Studies have show that a large percentage of people who record their daily activities have a greater success rate than those who do not. Keeping a workout log is no different. Using a log to record our workouts:

  1. Prevents us from missing workouts

  2. Keeps us focused

  3. Is an excellent form of accountability

  4. Lets us know why we are succeeding or failing to succeed

  5. Is a useful tool for identifying trends

  6. Less to remember when it’s on paper

  7. A valuable resource for future workouts

Keeping a Workout log is not time consuming and you can get started now by printing out a copy of the 247body.com Workout Log for Body Maintenance. 247body.com also has workout logs for
weight loss
, along with muscle building logs for the arms, legs, chest, back, and shoulders. Use these logs to record your workouts as you are training. They can also be used to plan your workouts ahead of time.

Using the log is easy. Simply fill in the blanks as you are training. Record the weight and repetitions in each box along with the poundage that you are using. Repetitions are the number of times you completed the motion. This box is a “set”. For example if we used 20 pounds for 10 repetitions we can also say we did one “set” of 10 repetitions at 20 pounds.

Workout logs keep us honest and focused. We can take a look at our workout log and be proud of our accomplishments and continue to use it for a motivational tool. Lastly we can find negative trends and correct them when necessary.
